Unbridled Horses Poem by Chester Maynes

Unbridled Horses

Lost with your words
You seem so suspicious
See the red line of my nose?
I bled as I ran in a snowy pavement
Now, look what I’ve got
All the months of toiling
I made a worth but me
In a title that I cannot comprehend
This is the path I walk
A path that you left

Not long ago we cried
Not long ago we chased butterflies
Not long ago we hummed a song
Not long ago we played a solitaire
Not long ago we loved

Now we’re miles apart
Now we’re miles apart
Now we’re alone
Alone in separate worlds
Now we’re free
We’re free as two unbridled horses
