Understand This Please Poem by Maura Hunt

I hope you understand I don’t want to take your hand
Cuz you’ve pulled away before you went and closed the door
And now we’re here in this room not talking in this gloom
And there you sit and stare at me like there’s nothing more to see

And I now stand and walk away with empty hands
And you just stare and the pain I cannot bare
It eats away at my heart and it has been torn apart
Many times before, so again you close this door.

And now I break but this is a damn mistake
And now you’re gone and I’m forced to now move on
Just leave my sight if you won’t take my hand tonight
I don’t need you here no more, so I’m forced to close my door.
