Now I found out I understand,
Why you were that way on my final day,
Not being there I hadn't heard,
What people had to say,
You thought that I'd betrayed you,
Told people what we were,
But you really should know better than that,
I'd never cause a stir,
I do however take responsibility,
Perhaps I am to blame,
For putting my trust in a so called 'friend',
One without any shame,
It was he that betrayed my trust,
I thought he was on my side,
And even now he dosen't know,
How much he's hurt my pride,
He's destroyed my trust in confidants,
And driven you from my life,
I'll never forgive him for destroying my chance,
Of making you my wife,
All I can say is I am so humble,
I made a big mistake,
But I know that there is no real chance,
Of ever being given a break,
Now you hate me I don't have,
A chance to make amends,
But still my heart keeps beating for you,
And all my love it sends,
Perhaps it means I'll miss the one,
If she comes along,
But in truth I think I've already met her,
And still I did her wrong.
Understanding one's own weaknesses and that of the others is a remarkable virtue... later it will help us in survive this life! A 10.
