Understanding A Sad Song

Theres always that song that brings you back in time
A song that you will forever remember and will always be mine
Your life has its own soundtrack
Realling you down the years retracing your tracks
But theres always that song that kills you inside
That will always have and leave you teary eyed
This sad emotional song starts out slow
A ray of confusion and emotions begin to flow
The sweet strings of the violin adds to the room
Infecting you with sadness and gloom
The keys of the piano play the heartbroken tune
But as this song plays further on the sadness will eventually get worse soon
The confussion blows away and the hurt starts to creep in
As your eyes start to cry and coldness creeps under your skin
The pain you feel is too much for you to endure
The anger thats erupting in you cant be cured
You can hear the drums beat along with the beat of your heart
As you wonder why and what made this pain start
Of course you realise its the song
You never believed that pain and hurt could last this long
From confusion to pain then anger to hate
You begin to realise and lose all of your faith.
Suddenly the song is over and the music stops
And you remember when
The sad emotional song starts all over again

poet Henry Lawson

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
