Undeserving Poem by Jim Boone

Undeserving

If the road gets too smooth
Those who feel undeserving
Will blow it up.

When love goes right
Those who don't trust
The feeling
Will get lost in an orgy.

Those who feel undeserving
Will find a way to return
From financial ease to strain
Believing we deserve
All the emotional pain
We can muster.

These actions and reactions
Are rooted in fear, not truth
In need, not deed
We are deserving
And must learn to be dynamite
Not to use dynamite.

We are love
And must embrace it
Without hesitation or fear
While giving love
Without strings.

We deserve to enjoy
The fruits of our labors
And must accept a joyful
Tempered responsibility
For navigating the road
That leads the way home.
