A film with an unassuming name, 'Clancy', a girl -
found shelter with a former soldier, a friendship
between them forming, she prayed for her mother
then the soldier, Nic, saw cigarette burns on her
shoulder and screamed in powerless fury against
her mother - he was an emotional fellow - and I
felt the same shock; a corrupt politician tried to
use Clancy to win votes by having Nic killed as
a kidnapper: but the sniper shot Clancy instead
She was taken to hospital - the young girl who had
made Nic a book on God's forgiveness of hatred, died
& Nic fell down in shock, all presented without melo-
drama: the burn marks, her faith and prayer for her
evil mother made me cry - the feeling returned as I
washed the dishes - but why do people come up with
stories like these which are too painful to bear, I
can't get over the terrible feeling of infinite loss
& the low-key presentation of pain hurts much more
Than voluble drama - the unending pain as Clancy's
story is so like The Little Match Girl by Anderson…
Little wonder that such intrigue, and hatred, would bother your soul Margaret Alice! You are perhaps the brightest angel I know. But it also sparked you to write this beautiful piece..... And such that God created the love - and free will to love - which was so embraced by Nic and Clancy, so too He created Satan and evil. Ying and yang, life's true purpose. It is always preferred to be drawn toward the light of love, to shield one's eyes from evil's blackness. But it exists. And so we must also draw our swords and slash away at the darkness encroaching the light. I will gladly stand that line for you, for eternity sweet Margaret.

An horrendous tale expertly narrated. A well texted and nicely thought out poem. Thanks for sharing Alice.
