Unexpected, Unwanted Poem by Liilia Talts Morrison

Unexpected, Unwanted

Demons howling in the rain
bent on driving me insane
growling, scowling, rolling trains
screaming meemees, whooping cranes

Pounding, hounding, grounding fear
spiking, striking, piercing spears
through the walls of thin veneer
suddenly they all appear

Unexpected are those guests
dreaded and unwelcome pests
holding captive is their quest
leaving me once more depressed.
