Unfading Tomorrow Poem by Alex McCullough

Unfading Tomorrow

Can you hear the pulse of my heart,
As it sways away with my thoughts of today,
Could I ever catch up to these moments,
As you let them be carried into tomorrow.
The world I stumbled into that day,
Told me it was pointless to prepare myself,
Like nothing which was ever taught to me before,
I had to just stand there and let everything pass me by.
'He'll never measure up',
My heart once worried,
'She'll always fall',
Because I never listened,
To all their stupid words and rules,
Yea, Yea!
Can you hear the beats of my heart,
As they merge with my thoughts of today,
Like a brand new color,
I want to blend all of those problems into nothingness!
Give me more,
It's okay,
I'll make sure to show you someday,
What these things are able to create within me,
Build me into an unfading memory!
