Unguarded Moment Poem by Charl JF Cilliers

Unguarded Moment

the sun hovers over
a twisting cloud

dragonflies stutter
in flight above the stream

their images static
as the water moves

with what lightness
they touch their images

as lightly as death
nudges flesh to dust

as infinitely lightly
as the hovering poem touches

the shadow of its unmaking
