Unknown Child Poem by Genevieve Surrender

Unknown Child

Rating: 3.9

Unknown words
flow through my mind
in hopes of reaching
the light at the end
of the tunnel.

Unknown hopes
and unknown loves
show a gateway
into the beyond
and down the stairs
from heaven to the earth.

Uknown breath
from an unknown child
of an unknown sex
in a woman
who will never love him.

The love of a mother
who is god's mother
who is your godmother
is uknown to you.

But soon
that unknown woman
will love you more
with every step you take
because you
are her godchild
and she loves you
like her own.

February
(Dedicated to the unknown child who will be born later this month)
