Unreal Reality Poem by Robbie Squires

Unreal Reality

Rating: 5.0

Let me decay back into the earth
Make me known to what I was worth
A great ascending mountain range
With a small home on top
Blanketed with steel-like ice sheets
It is a cold, dark, dead prison
Kept by one man
Now WAKE UP! ! ! ! !
This is only a dream you are believing
Everyone is dead in that prison
Rodents and scavengers feast on the rotting corpses
No humans are alive

We awoke in a strange classroom
The walls melted below our feet
Flowed like a river
Up to a pool of rotting meat
We wandered this factory-like battle zone for hours
And did not find one way out
We can never be let out
He would not like that

A trapdoor was discovered
It led to an oil painting room
Every single piece of are read
“You are living your impending doom.”
A film of blood lined the floor
And yet there was still no door

Finding tunnels that led nowhere
It seemed like there is no way out of here
Suddenly a pale green creature appeared
From the corner of my eye
I turned and looked
It could not talk
The creature was astoundingly shy
Clear liquid oozed from its dull skin
Licking up the remains
It slowly slithered away into the blackness
Leaving a trail of slime
Whats the worse that could happen?
Curiosity might save my life this time

It wasn’t bad to the tongue
Walking away I felt rejuvenated
An odd aura settled in my mind
He knew the way out
Curiosity saved his life this time

The trail led back to the classroom
Past the tunnels and impending doom
He had seen all of it before
But in that room was the exit door

Out that door and back into his mind
He was great, everything was fine
A couple hours later
He became confused
Again he could see that room
Running away did him no good
He did everything he could
To get out
But soon he realized
That this was real
And trips to normalcy he could only steal
From that creatures clear slime
And in fact curiosity did not save him this time

When I was your age I saw pain and death ripped every corner your hope is an eye for truth not to be tainted that if you write happier will you know happiness if you have no-one to ask who may help if you do not know what help to give. If I am tired of listening how do I hear
