Unrealized Dreams Poem by Rishi Menon

Unrealized Dreams

Unrealized Dreams

I wandered alone in the desert in vain
Oblivious of the thundering gale
For things hovered in my mind
Those that made me blind

A thousand miseries plagued my heart
So much like pygmy poison darts
They came on, unrelenting
Devastating a destroyed being

Tears welled up in sleepless eyes
Dammed by obstinate lashes
Mirrored deep in those murky waters
Was etched the hurt of eons

I trudged on without purpose
The head and heart a breed apart
Striving to reach a consensus
Climax akin to the bad start

I took stock of my lot at last
And stared into the mirror
Only to find a total stranger
A far cry from the image past

Passion, the years had fanned
And caring clouded with refrain
A once kind face was now lined
With creases of anger and disdain

It saddened her, my whims
So much like unpredictable springs
But what saddened her further still
Were unrealized dreams

Ash (Rishi's Dad)

On the stilted boughs of a wrinkled tree the fresh blooms of a season will sprout.... as long as the dreamer believes, new dreams will come about! A passionate write of a pining heart! its wonderful! seema
