Untamed Rover Poem by Anamika Jayakumar

Untamed Rover

In the rat race of 21st century
Time when high is the level of mercury
Lost in a state of utter confusion
One among the hundred millions
When, what and how to choose? ?

While thoughts crawl upon the mind
Silent, malicious a monster that grow so giant
As the wanderer(mind) pause and hesitate
Yeah! I know it’s important
Yet incompetent to make a verdict.

Shall shovel up wealth beyond limits
And fame above the known confines
Or end all those dazed conflicts
And breathe an air of peace? ?

Race for the ego of a triumphant warrior
Conquer domains, become a renowned abductor
Or give up and live as a mere looser,
Nothing left other than to be a miser? ?

Sit back with the realistic choice
Or go for the rainbow chase? ?
Whether to put off anguish and anger
And renovate to be an anchor? ?

Whether to Jump off heights in desperation
And end the circumventing depression;
Or fly high with too little an aspiration,
Enjoying the shower of precipitation? ?

Stand beside the huddled crowd
Turn deaf to the call for change; now too loud
Or shall let the Ink that hesitated to flow,
Go through from pen to paper? ?

Whether to hold on to the obligations,
Tie up self in thousand unseen knots;
Else go crazy to the mind’s satisfaction
And pronounce the secret love? ?

Yes or no, Whether this or that,
Question remains with no dart
Variance that transect upon, still hovers
Clogging the wits, like an untamed rover.
