Untitled - 1 Poem by Philip St. Cyr

Untitled - 1

Circumstances in life try to steal away my joy,
they try to crush my hopes and dreams and everything else in between
I feel as though I have to strain to smile,
I can't breathe...The problems that I face, they suffocate me
Searching...in need of a shoulder to lean on,
No one can hear the silent cries of a heart bleeding inside
Out of misery and pain this heart has been shattered
There is no one to accompany the one whose heart is worn on his sleeve
Memories..they linger in my mind's eye
as though trapped in mouse-like maze, I feel distant, lost in a wandering gaze
Choices that were made in the past, now haunt the reality of my present
wanting now to be made to forget,
the haunting of dismal and dreary life that is filled with regret
only time will seek to establish a new life in which everything to me is perfect
my world will be re-incarnated as my dreams
and what can be called reality intersect
However that is not the case;
in this life, which is bombarded with problems to face
So I close my eyes and ears to world and sit still so I can concentrate
I am far away...with you...in another life, on a new day
