Unveiling Poem by Masiela Lusha

Unveiling

Rating: 5.0

The splinters of her heart
Has guided her home
Through the quiet snow
Through the calm
And loud machinery
Of something lost.

The world is metallic
Today. Iron. Tasteless
Paled and stinging
A staleness
She runs to escape—
An expression chilled
To her every muse
Every fiber of distrust
Aching her lungs.
She dares not breathe.

She found him today
Though She wishes she hadn’t
She found the truth
Inside their deepest embrace.

It was the lie she had wanted.
A woven pride
To hold together her world:
A little denial to mend her soul.
