Unwinding Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Unwinding

When the wheel begins to turn
motion carries me on a revolving route
Taking me beyond the limits of doubt

I'm taking a ride on a Ferris Wheel
In a slow spin with dazzling lights
My spirit lifts into the weightless night

Don't want to feel glum and sad
rotating beneath the darkened sky...
Thinking of a day that went awry

My soul is carried to great heights…
Thoughts diminish as I unwind
No longer do I have a troubled mind

Stars above glimmer and shine
People below are getting smaller
I am unreachable…I am much taller

The reeling ride concludes, my feet
step onto the dusty firm ground...
Assuring waves of calmness abound
