Uplift Poem by hajara abdul khader

Uplift

Rating: 4.5

Barren is the word
I put before the world,
Blind and deaf to voices within.
They struggle and burn inside;
The coals of agony cry in pain.
But mum's the final verdict!
So be it, I say
To the dark and evil grin
That shames even the dead.
Zombies infest the globe,
Walking dead are they; they know not.
Life and love are chained
In an iron cage of falsehood;
They weep tears of gold.
A flood strikes,
And impurities wash away.
Freedom at last
Opens its eyes to daylight;
The sky is clear and so is the air.
Next comes plentiful!
