Upon Waking Poem by Katrina Harms

Upon Waking

a revelation made
upon waking- that my
Dreams were fashioned
to wear your face.
That distant scent of skin
yet unsavored, it is
Cold from where I now stand,
borne in the arms of imagining
A forgotten night once told of
a secret heart's chamber-
the silent rueful pleasure of forbidden things,
the lithe paleness of moon upon your arms and cheek,
and how darkness blotted all expression from
your eyes, and I, the sweet dreamer,
must now endure carefully a precious secret
where that strange tumultuous kiss
unnerved me, dismayed me, delighted me,
unleashed my dreams to your
mystery
