Used For More Than Hurt Poem by Devon Tremblay

Used For More Than Hurt

The sun rises and the sun sets
Yet we all seem to forget
It hurries around to rise again
To shine light and to wash my sin
Hold your tongue, Spit out the toxin
You are done my discouraged friend

Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full
I'll keep sinking to fill your hole
Bury me under the sun
To embrace your filling love

So attractive, this hurt can be
Self destructive, drown me into the sea
I can`t slow my desperation
I created my expiration
Look up they all say
No one tells you that the sun can make you blind

Lead me home and burn me alone
Look unto my crusted skin
Look into my burning sin
Without condemning you condone
Severe of the unholy habits
That drag me down to shallow pits
Why am I given your elegance
When you know all my sins
You can hurry `round to rise again
to shine light and wash my sin
