Utopia (T) Poem by Tommy Mikkelsen

Utopia (T)

Look yourself up
remember
what’s gone is gone.
The part of you
that’s above the skies
is turning to vacancy
like the sons
of the lost Zion.

You are more
than forgiveness and relief.
You are more
than pain and disbelief.

By entering Utopia
you forgot
the screams
of the burning meadows.
Try to leave out
a world in madness
you’ll figure out
it’s easier said than done.

You can be more
Than a sinner in shame
You can be more
Than a burnt-out flame.

Through its massacre
the false hope
has been sliced in parts
of your decay.
Your freezing fields
are like soldiers in war
empty
until lost & forgotten.

You can be more
Than lost & forgotten
You can be more
Than empty and rotten.

In order to search for Utopia
you’ll have to be Utopia.
