V Was For Victory Poem by Louis Martin

V Was For Victory

V is for Victory, because you won my heart
In just 40 days, or rather the start
Call me naive, pretentious, or rash
But I guess that's what happens when two bodies clash
An immovable object, an unstoppable force
Are bound to collide, it's just a matter of course
Like thunder and lightning, our lives are linked
For better or worse, smooth sailing or kinks
But the former seems possible...probable...Por supuesto!
Te aseguro que no hay otra que me ha hecho sentir esto.
Tal como el sol, alimentas y brillas
Aluzando las vidas de amigos y amigas
V is for Victory, but also for Peace.
So pieces of me I will send on the breeze
With hopes they'll bring rain, to wash away fear
And to remind you of home, whether it's far or near
The space between is of no concern
Rather the time we have yet to discern
Our wishes, our thoughts, our hopes, and our dreams
We still have much time to stitch those seams
Youth is a gift, but it comes at a cost
Uncertain futures, opportunities lost
'Wouldn't it be nice? ' the Beach Boys would say
I would like to agree that old age feels this way
Gray hair and sun spots say much more than words
They say, 'I've lived - with the bees and the birds.'
The passage of time: relative, they say
Today could be bright, but the next could be grey
But you can be sure that the sun will arrive
To bring life to all, surprise after surprise
If I could just capture that light, to call my own
I would revel and rejoice, if only for a moment
V is for Victory. Yes, it would be nice
If Victory weren't joined by Sacrifice.
But still I will searc for Victory abound
'Til the beautiful call of Victory is sound.
