Vacation Dreaming Poem by Teresa Dearing

Vacation Dreaming

To bed, I say,
To dream, I pray,
Of some fair and distant land.

With trees that sway,
Over waters and bay,
With walks of warm, soft sand.

To curl my toes,
Burn up my nose,
And sleep ‘til almost noon.

To swim and play,
In the warmth of the bay,
Then dance the locals tune.

Bright flowers greet,
Delicious things to eat,
Just hope I don’t wake too soon.

If so, I pray,
To wake, I may,
In this fair and distant land.

Where the palm trees sway,
Taking my cares away,
As I waltz thru the waters and sand,
Of this wonderful carefree land.
