Vain People Like Me Poem by Edwin Tanguma

Vain People Like Me

Vain People Like Me

What might life be like
If there were
No mark of the beast
If mankind would share
That which they have
With those who have not
If we were all equal
If ideas were shared freely
Without anyone hoarding them
With the intention to earn
Wealth and fame from them
Would it be
As it is in heaven
Might mankind
Make a heaven
Here on Earth
Vanity is of no value
Yet mankind is truly vain
As if Money and credit
Is not the mark of the beast
Oh well
If only there were more
Vain people like me
Oh God what a thought
