Valediction Poem by Xun Liu

Valediction

Freedom!
From this moment on
I shall leave you smiling in old dreams foregone
And leave you beaming in mysterious beauty
No longer will I indulge myself to adore you
Nor blindly pursue your uncatchable being
But you are always the one to whom my love belongs
Freedom, beloved
Veiled fire, miraged desire
No longer am I the pathetic caged beast,
Humbly beseeching, hopelessly longing
Your licking flicker blazed me into a grey shadow
Wandering, sensing, seeking, laughing
Existing only when life is shining
