Valentine Love Poem by Ryan David Ginsberg

Valentine Love

Rating: 5.0

They say today is the day to celebrate our love
But one day is not enough
We will celebrate us every single day
We will celebrate us in every single way
In everything we do, in our every moment
Our love is impromptu, because we never wrote it
Never had a plan, just played it by ear
The only thing that has ever mattered is that you were here
So today I won't buy any chocolate in the shape of a heart
Won't buy a teddy bear to remember me by when we are apart
There won't be any special dinner or a special card
And I know that you won't take this hard
Because today is just another day we celebrate
We can do it every day, we don't have to wait
So they celebrate this day of valentines
But I celebrate every single day that you are mine
Every day that I get to see your smiling face
I know the goodness of God's grace
Every night as I lie my head to rest
I thank God that He sent me the very best
Sent me my other half, the better part
And I pray to Him that we will never be apart
So there will be no bear to help you remember
Because I will always be there, from wake to slumber
No special dinner, because they are all of equal importance
But I will still be there to ask you to dance
As you lie your head on my shoulder
As we have done every night as we have grown older
Today is a special day, but no different than tomorrow
Because I gave you my heart to keep, not just to borrow
So tomorrow, when valentines day is over
We will still do it all over
Like it was still our first day
We will continue to do it the very same way
So today, tomorrow, and for forever and always
These feelings will always stay
So be my valentine today, tomorrow, and all the above
Because you will always be my valentine love
