Vanity Poem by Kevin Campbell

Vanity

You took away my vanity
Replaced it with this pain
Make me feel so humble
At the mention of your name

But we walk in different circles
And dance to different tunes
I pick pockets full of memories
You swap stories with the moon

Though we dream the same dreams
And smell the same perfume
We want the same things alone here in this room

You took away my vanity
Replaced it with this pain
Make me feel so humble
At the mention of your name

But we walk in different circles
And dance to different tunes
I pick pockets full of loneliness
You swap stories with the moon
