Vicious Circle (1989) Poem by Jodie Phillips

Vicious Circle (1989)

I see you think that I don't care,
That hate surrounds you everywhere.
You were wrong until today,
You've got to learn: watch what you say.

Take some time to stop and see
The pressures ailing me

I take a lot, and still I smile
Overlooking for a while
Things that people say and do,
The line was crossed this time by you.

The tame is getting old, too old to play
But you insist on it every day,
When it comes to the end
You start over again.

Well, as far as I'm concerned
It's way past time you learned
Trying to help, my world was tearing
Now I'm past the point of caring.

Take some time to stop and see
The pressure that is ailing me
I hope you put the game away
I've had enough, I refuse to play.
