Victorious God Poem by Jeremy Deacon

Victorious God

Rating: 5.0

The sorrow and pain that I endure on this earth is unbearable. This affliction that I carry hurts me to the core filling my mind with cloudy meaningless thoughts that are of no value. These tear's I hide from mere man to only preserve an imitation of happiness. Oh the shame I have for conforming to the eyes of man. Oh God my God there is no need of hiding and fearing man when it is you and you alone who sees into the depths of my inner being. You see the blackness and the filth. You see the suet from the burning flame of wickedness that consumes me. My God how I need you to restore this broken vessel that bears the scars of a burning ambush from evil. Return to me the joy of a Salvation freely given by you. Lord I know you are with me in this abyss of darkness and fear. Even though I do not see your hand and feel your presence you are so very near to me. Arms wide open to embrace your child with your truth. God it is your truth I rely on. I do not rely on feelings to tell me of your great and vast love for me. You are the light that beams into my abyss of darkness only to fill me with a love so real and true. You are the rock that pierces through the ground for a firm foundation. You are the healer who dresses my wounds. Oh God my God you are my God. You are oh God the one whom I seek to find and you oh God I will see one day the fullness of your Glory. Fill me up once more with your truth and that your faith would be my faith in this blinded world where sight can surely disappoint. Oh anointed one, be the river of life that flows through me like a raging sea so that no other force may dwell. You are victorious oh God and with victory my soul to you belongs.
