Victory Poem by Kid of Los Angeles

Victory

Reminisce, reminisce on history,
Reminisce, reminisce on a victory
Do we celebrate victory?
Among death, hostages, tragedy?
Is a victory an appraisal of win,
Or a reminder of loss.
A burdened word representing the defeated, the scarred, and the dead.
Victory is no winner. It is no golden flag.
Not even a white flag, but a blood drenched flag with the stench of the fallen
Victory is as closeted plant.
With old man time upon the side, it will grow one day
To arise again.
Victory is never safe, nor is the victor.
