Viewless Poem by Dillon McKenna

Viewless

Rating: 5.0

I awake, and I am carried forth
On wings that none could see.
To a place on high I am borne,
To sing a song of poesy.
Of the capricious tempest of love in its might and modesty,
Of the angels who take their rest above in flight beyond the sea,
That they might yet reveal their fleeting charm, and induct us all into mystery.
In chryselephantine they hide from harm, undercover where all can see.

The force that binds my soul to theirs in chains of ancient majesty,
Makes me then their chosen heir, or so I am inclined to believe,
In place of pain, light does grow for those within the sacred row,
There is no shame, our might is hope and is on us bestowed.
Down from Elysium it is borne,
From the hidden lips of poesy.
In my mind to be carried forth,
On wings that none could see.
