Violence Will Always Beget More Violence Poem by Hebert Logerie

Violence Will Always Beget More Violence

A few wise widows wonder,
While sitting at their windows;
They asked this thorny question:
'Who started the very first wars? '
Nobody cares to give a rapid answer.
Amidst the commotion and confusion,
A young lad is weeping in a corner.
He can barely utter a few words,
However, through gestures,
He seems to say: ' never mind
The devils that created this mess;
My immediate concern, in this instance,
Is to speak loud and with coherence,
About the end, or the death of all wars.
Because too many souls are dying
And Hell is overly crowded and dense,
With too many petty and hard criminals,
Murderers and convicted animals.'
Violence will always beget more violence.
