Violets Poem by Pete Crowther

Violets

Rating: 2.3

When I was a child
My mother took me
To look for violets.
They grew in a secret place
On the edge of a wood.
Their petals were as blue
As my mother’s eyes.
This was long ago.

Actually Mac, i think the line it was long ago adds beauty to the poem.

I love it, but I don't think the last line adds anything-it's evident that it must have been long ago. Why not just dropp it?
