Virtuous Queen

Virtuous Queen,
suspended by two realities:
tell us stories
of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob.
Tell us how
you broached
the news to Joseph.
Tell us how they mocked
your immaculate conception.
Tell us of Jesus'
formative years.

Virtuous Queen,
human and divine,
Mother of disciples,
teach us how to pray,
how to nurture God,
how to live the Christian life,
even when we are torn
and slaughtered.
How to love,
even when we are hated
and despised.

Virtuous Queen,
robed in righteousness,
comfort us.
Radiant Majesty,
enlighten us.
Sorrow Personified,
mourn with us.
Faithfulness Exemplified,
Mother of kings,
teach us.
Matriarch of heaven,
intercede for us.

A beautiful tribute to the mortal mother of our immortal savior. Very well thought out and written. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
