Visible Spectrum Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Visible Spectrum

She removed
her top

which was the hue
of that potion of the visible spectrum

lying between
indigo & green

in one swift moment

as magnificent
a gesture

as could be seen.

She then removed
her skirt

the sound of the zip
undid my mind

which was now the same hue
as the aforementioned top.

She then proceeded
to undo the two

cute little bows
on either hip.

She then let the knickers
slip

until it lay at her feet
a verdant hue

of that part of the visible spectrum
which lies between

yellow & blue.

She kicked it casually
away.

I gasped &
gasped again.

Her skin
was the colour of sun & sin.

I forgot her
charms

for all of one
second

then...then...
I gave in!
