Wade In The Swamp, Children Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wade In The Swamp, Children

Wade...
In the swamp.
Children.
Wade...
In the swamp today children.
Wade...
In the swamp.
Children.
There is nothing there to getcha,
But the evil of misdeeders.

Forget about the teaching to be honest, yeah!
Forget about the trusting to be truthful too.
Forget about that talk of being loyal.
'Cause ain't nobody gonna be loyal to you.
Now wade...
In the swamp.
Children.
Wade...
In the filthy swamp children.
Wade...
In the swamp.
Children.
And learn to be as dishonest as people show you.

Be a thief.
And be a better thief than people show you.
Learn to lie.
And be the best at it you can do.
Come on and wade,
In swamp.
Children.
Wade...
In the rotten swamp, children.
Wade...
In the swamp.
Children.
Follow the example the adults show you.
Follow their example to know it approved.
