Wait Not

Wait not until you’re old and grey
Till sickness comes to dwell
Best seek God now whilst yet you may
Whilst strong and life is well

God sees our heart He sees our soul
Each thought He can perceive
He longs to save to make all whole
Who in His Son believe

Wait not until your old and frail
Till dim has grown your eye
Wait not until your entrails fail
Until you fear to die

Wait not till wisdom comes to call
Till youth and vigour’s spent
Until with back against the wall
You can no more repent

Wait not for God to show His face
For Christ to show He’s true
But pray Salvation’s saving grace
Would flow as Morning Dew

Wait not till life shuts tight His door
Wait not to bow your head
Refuse to be the devil’s whore
Arise and leave his bed

It’s time the truth of life to see
It’s time to kneel and pray
It’s time man’s heart and soul were free
To walk redemption’s way

Salvation’s arms are open wide
Christ’s voice calls loud and clear
It’s time for us to walk inside
His cloud draws ever near…
