Waiting. Poem by D.A. Woods

Waiting.

My suffering life has fallen apart,
stopped, stalled and looking for a start,
the wind it howls a song of depart,
my blackend soul, my off track heart.

Happieness for me is long overdue,
all other emotions are held and subdued,
yesterday my head and heart started their fued,
and as the rain falls, I think of you.

I think of you, and those days gone by,
ignoring the screams of the butterfly,
days and nights which we never tried,
the story of my life 'til I rest in my pyre.
