Waiting Poem by Harold R Hunt Sr

Waiting

Waiting
I stand here on the corner waiting for you.
I watch as the sky turns to blue.
I stand for an hour and there is no you.
Just my power building is waiting for you.
I've now waited for two hours.
As my shoes turn to glue
I'm waiting for you.
Mad as I can be I say where can you be.
Not here and not there.
So I stand waiting.
The dark does come and it's time I go
Why do I stand here waiting for you?
When I could have walked around the corner to home
