Waiting Poem by Miriana Serle

Waiting

Rating: 4.5

The ticking of the clock,
That sits quite steady on the wall.
The crackling noise of burning wood,
The pot of water on our cottage stove.
That annoying noise!
Coming from our refrigerator.
Fire burning rapidly now,
The way it throws out warmth.
The good hearing of a dog,
Now I hear him bark.
I finally am alone right now,
But the headache they did cause.
Waiting, I'm just waiting,
I wish that joke were true.
I wish that if I did throw the clock,
I could watch time pass me by.

Good train of thoughts, nicely encapsulated and beautifully penned. An insightful depiction of the anxiety of waiting well portrayed in the piece. The beauty of poetry is in the articulation, encapsulation and insight. Definitely a good poem to share on the sight. Thanks for sharing Miriana.
