Waiting For You My Love Poem by Rik Bertrand

Waiting For You My Love

For ages I have waited for your return
Sitting patiently on our balcony of love
Silent and sorrowful, my heart has become.

Butterflies float into existence then die
All around me a single bird does fly,
A lone patron of love, a lost son.

The roses bloom and shed their tears,
They wrap around me to ward of fears.
And I cry for what I have dearly lost

My faith holds that love will prevail,
I have held on for oh so long,
Through the summer heat and winters frost.

I am weary and tired but I hold on
I know that you will find your back to me,
Time is on our side, love has set us free.

I am here waiting on our balcony of love
Where I was when you last saw me,
I shall be here upon your return, smiling happily.
