Walk Alone Poem by BAL KRISHAN PANDITA

Walk Alone

Rating: 5.0

It is a nightfall
And the black clouds
Are feathering the sky
In this dark hour
I am walking alone
And my path lay deserted
The cold breeze
Coming from all sides
Penetrates my naked body
The lamp that was burning
At the hilltop
In that lonely house
Has extinguished its light
And those who walked with me
On this path till yesterday
Have taken other paths
My back is cold
And I do not remember
When the sun had shone last
I look towards the sky
And ask what have I done
To deserve this
Suddenly the dark clouds
Move for a while
And I see Him
Behind the white clouds
Sitting on the cliff of snow
More lonely than I
He has a moon on his forehead
And he is at peace, a perfect peace
At this moment
I realize that
In the journey of life
Man has to walk alone
All alone.

The poem is very touching and depicts high degree of tension under which the man in the poem is traversing on a lonely path, all alone. Thanks for sharing the sentiments of those thousands of brethren in Kashmir who had left their homes under clouds of threats to life.10+ points.
