Walk Away Daddy Poem by Kerrie Smith

Walk Away Daddy

Ten tiny fingers and Ten tiny toes.
Cute little lips and a button nose.
Wide little eyes as I try to see,
All the people who believe in me.

Walk away daddy, mum knows what to do.
Walk away daddy, I don't know you.
Walk away daddy, not even a card.
Walk away daddy, it must be too hard.

My sweet little cry as I hold on tight.
Mum rocks me and then dims the light.
I sleep so peaceful as I know I'm safe.
But in your life there is no space.

Walk away daddy, mum knows what to do.
Walk away daddy, I don't know you.
Walk away daddy, not even a card.
Walk away daddy, it must be too hard.
