Walk In Shadows Poem by Ryan Holmes

Walk In Shadows

As I watch life pass me by
Still I continue to hide
Finding strength in nothing now
My thoughts blanked out by my shouts

Frustration building inside
These thoughts of death will not abide
Every time I pass her by
A flash of pain, try not to cry

Walking within the shadows
I mustn’t let anyone know
That I’m even a bit upset
That I’m not close to happy yet

I see her when I close my eyes
It’s Hell for me on those long nights
You know, those nights when you can’t sleep
My thoughts on her, I start to weep

My life shattered in an instant
Old memories play in my head
She came so fast, but then she went
And tore my saddened heart to shreds
