Walking Alone Poem by Khaleel Steir

Walking Alone

I walk down the dark and misty trail
Searching for someone to comfort me as we walk together
Everyone I used to know left and it's so cold
My hands, they're numb. I can't feel anything yet I trek on
Why am I the one to always walk alone, never having someone to call my own?
Why am I the unlucky one? God has failed me once more.
Showing me visions of her in the mist. Damn YOU!
As I scream into the mist, only talking to myself
I feel as if I've been walking for an eternity, walking in circles
I hear a voice somewhere in the mist
Her voice. I run and chase the voice, but never any progress.
Is this my hell I've been condemned? Or is this my test to find her?
I hate being alone, will I ever reach salvation, will she ever be mine?
