Walking In The Rain Poem by Paula Glynn

Walking In The Rain

It is a beautiful summer day,
And there is rain,
Falling onto my umbrella,
And clearing the air,
With the scent of flowers and grass.
It is a new day,
Full of hope and possibilities,
That capture all hearts,
For the flowers grow in the rain,
And when the rain stops,
A rainbow will light up the sky,
Inspiring all who see,
But, for now,
I am walking in the rain,
Walking under a cloudy sky,
Imagining spaceships and planes,
Taking people far away,
To other destinations,
To another life.
But, for now, my life is here,
Under the rain in summer,
That inspire artists to paint pictures,
And write stories of a lost love,
First love or a found love,
So hard to find,
But I shall enjoy the rain,
And breathe in the fresh air,
Fragranced with flowers and grass,
And admire watercolours,
Painted by street artists,
Forgetting the rain,
Could ruin their artwork.
