Walking In Poem by Justin Kopp

Walking In

Leaning on the lamp post
As I round up my breath
Staring down a rain soaked street
The sign is on the left
As a gather my feet
Gain stride
Midnight alleys and light night drinks
The bar's a dive
I got time for a beer
Relax have a seat dry off
Take a sip leave a tip
Drown your dirt
Grab a shovel and dig your ditch
Bury all the trouble
Walk away until tomorrow
This cigarette and the money's borrowed
Another girl who slurs my words
Impressions come first in this struggle
Eyes linger with unkind thoughts
Unknown scorn poured on ice
Dizzy now with double vision
Lie down and drift in to melodies
