Waltzing With Bashert Poem by gershon hepner

Waltzing With Bashert

Rating: 2.8

She didn’t know he really cared,
until he took her by the hand,
and not long after they were paired
for ever, and the wedding band
played music that had not been aired
before in all of Frummie land,
and typically was loudly blared—
it’s mandatory, you understand—
and hand in hand they were not scared
to dance to “Waltzing with Beshert.
An Oscar for them I demand
should be awarded, since they shared
the floor together, hand in hand,
and mixed the dance where none had dared.

Zak wrote to me asking whether there should be a movie called “Waltzing with Beshert, ” a title inspired by the Israeli movie that should have won an Oscar but mysteriously didn’t, “Waltzing With Bashir.”
