Mandolyn ...

want to buy a discount card?

a high school boy
is at the door, the peep hole said
just ignore him
but my hands turned the knob
because of the dog, wagging her tail in excitement
that there's a new human out there-

'wanna buy a, uh.. discount card or whatever? '
he says looking down at his shaking hands

shell fish you wish-
it's for a chili dog and shake
you get one free
when you buy three-

good deal, eh?

fix your speech, boy
you won't become quarterback
for selling high fat and cholesterol

try a smile and a eye contact
when knocking door to door-
it might help if you sang a little diddy
threw the cards in the air and said
'welp! this is shit'

i'd totally buy one then.

If I should die, think only this of me:
