Wanted Poem by Joel Liew

Wanted

I WANTED.
I wanted to write you a poem today,
a poem to express the things i wanna say.
To express the words that are deep inside,
words i wanted to say the past few nights.
I wanted to make you a nice breakfast that day,
as you haven't been having proper meals for many days.
As i don't wish to see you falling ill,
Remember that you're not made of solid steel.
I wanted to write you a song last week,
though it didn't turn out really sweet.
The song was to ask you not to cry,
to ask you to laugh & not to sigh.
I wanted to hold you tight the month before,
as i hated seeing you feel so lost.
Hated seeing you feel so down
hated seeing you have that frown.
I wanted to do wonders for you,
to make your every dream come true.
Yet i don't know if i could be the one
as i may not be person you'll really want.
