Wanting Everything Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Wanting Everything

Wanting Everything

I wanted everything the world had to offer.
I saw all things to prefer.
Without limits I tried to grasp them.
But alas, I couldn't get them.

My need to grasp all things,
Lead me nowhere.
When I stopped needing,
Green lights flashed every where.

I learned lessons of life,
That no one was allowed to take,
Everything for their sake.
Alas it was true.

My wanting everything would not do.
